You are purchasing and deploying AI products from third parties
Purchasing AI services from third parties is by far the most common type of AI implementation we see.
By third party we mean any kind of AI (ML or algorithmic) service you buy from someone else. Maybe your business or organization is using AI services like Copilot, GPT models, Claude, Firefly or any of the many other mainstream commercial models to support everyday optimization, customer service, internal information management and retrieval or something else. You might also be leveraging third parties to build systems and products from scratch, leveraging AI.
When buying (or having already bought) AI services from third parties, we can help you assess and compare the privacy, ethical and social impacts of the various products you are considering. We are also happy to audit products you are acquiring, and we can work with your external provider either to upskill them or as neutral quality-assurance. Essentially; if you want someone without a horse in the race to tell you whether the AI you are buying does what is claims, how well it works, and what risks it carries, we can provide that external expertise.
You are building/developing/deploying your own AI products
If your company or organization is managing your AI needs through in-house development, we can provide an array of services from scoping, strategy, risk sweeping through actual development support, and various testing and auditing across ethics, robustness, security, privacy, biases, fairness, trustworthiness, explainability, transparency and more. For safety needs we can provide AI Privacy and Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) assessments. This could be one end-to-end service or broken up into requirement analysis, threat modeling, pen testing and auditing.
If you would like a full-service approach, we can build (or provide) your entire due diligence capacity in alignment with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and OECD Guidelines, ensuring a system that supports existing compliance measures with the AI Act, the EU Omnibus, NIST or any other soft/hard law requirements as well as selected ethics frameworks like design justice, humane design, inclusive design, human-centered design, data feminism and more. Already deployed an AI product but you want to make it less vulnerable? We can help you audit your existing AI products regardless of whether they are for internal use or you are actively producing and selling AI services to others. We can provide impact assessments, risk sweeps, security and privacy audits, bias assessments, robustness evaluations and more.
We can help you with black box and deep learning systems as well as simple algorithms – our specialty is knowing which methods for assessment suit different systems best. Tell us what you have got and we will tell you how best to identify loopholes and challenges. We want our clients to be able to manage these assessments themselves, so unless you specifically need an external validation of your system, we always recommend a close collaboration in-house, so we can help build internal capacity for future assessments that follow the same roadmap, providing more accurate assessments of updates, drift and changes to the systems over time.
